June 2025- Chalk Springs
Scorching heat, crystal-clear waters, and a test of skill—our day at Chalk Springs was one to remember.
An early start, expert tactics, and a few surprises (including a near-miss with a rogue fly!) made for an exciting outing. Despite the tough conditions, our anglers rose to the challenge, landing some impressive catches and proving that experience makes all the difference. Curious who topped the leaderboard?

May 2025- Fishing for Schools Charity Event at Lakedown
An excellent day all round. The prizes were presented by Charles Jardine in front of a large gathering including celebrities and Roger Daltrey who with Jamie Daltrey were kind enough to host this wonderful event. A very deep-felt thanks goes to our President Geoff Brooks for introducing us to this event and also contributing 50% of the cost. In addition to our success on the day and with the help of Charles Jardine we hope for a lot of merited publicity in the Fly-Fishing press, The Countryside Alliance, as well as the Fishing for schools website.

May 2025- Lakedown
Great to be at Lakedown once again with a turnout of 19 keen anglers . The consensus was that Damsels were the flavour for the day, however some used Kingfisher copper, some used yellow beads and some blue.

April 2025- Rockbourne
Coming to Rockbourne to celebrate our 40th anniversary was an easy call to make - such a beautiful fishery and very much a members' favourite. We were also blessed with fine weather, bright at times with some occasional cloud.

March 2025- Manningford
SMFF's second visit to these lakes. We could not fault the weather dry all day, a little chilly at times with that easterly breeze but a most enjoyable day among friends

February 2025- Avon Springs
The weather was kind, but certainly not an easy day’s fishing at Avon Springs this time round, but as it's often said "that fishing folks!".
